Prestonfield

Thanks, Wendy! Sorry to hear your return visit wasn't as enjoyable as the first...

Thank you Colleen for all your hard work and, in my particular case patience.

Happily Edinburgh has an ever increasing hotel scene including the rather curious Le Monde. Definitely one for the young set.

How disappointing Wendy! It is horrible when you pick a favorite hotel and have a special weekend planned, to get a bad room.

Oh Wendy what a disappointment and on New Year's Eve too. I am sure you paid a fortune for that suite as Edinburgh do tend to cash ibn on the Scottish theme for NY. I expect you are searching for an alternative for next year? friends of ours visited Burgh Island and loved the hotel and the NY celebrations there....may be one to look at?
We are thinking of renting a large house for an extended family get together but the prices for 3 days over NY are astromical so we will see...

Hello,
No thankfully we didn't pay a fortune but you are quite right I will need to find a ball to go to as I am being "made over" for a breast cancer magazine in August.

The name of the feature is "formal dressing for the festive season" and I have been chosen because it is very difficult to dress formally with lymphoedma.
I know I will find somewhere nice a little nearer the time.

The Prestonfield Ball was lovely and we sat on a table with one American in his kilt, one Swiss in his kilt and a fellow Brummie in his kilt. We were quite confused by the end of the evening but they were extremely good fun.
There was also an oncology nurse and doctor on our table so my arm was looked after by them ie massaged and dipped in an ice bucket when it got too hot!
I told them they were our Angels as Ken Checkiki from ST said to me once he met many angels on his travels in Italy and I now know what he means.
Angel
(Where are you Ken?)

Wendy, that sounds very exciting...I hope you find somewhere suitable to show off your make over. Happy

It sounds as if even though your room was not as it should have been, you still made some good memories and met some lovely people,so every cloud has a silver lining.

Hello Colleen,

Thank you for your hard work but unfortunately my review doesn't appear to be with the heading.
Is this because I sent it separately on "word"?
Let me know.
Wendy
Ah, I have just found your P M I'll see if I can track the "full" review down.
