Just wanted to let the UK gang know that I am back in Yorkshire on business - this time for 3 whole weeks!
During my last trip, I ventured out to York on my own...what an incredible experience.
I am open to some grand adventures, as I can be flexible with my schedule (after all, I live by the motto, "I work hard so that I can play hard").
If anyone has any interesting suggestions, please let me know.
Here are some ideas I'm toying with:
-hiking to Kinder Scout in The Peak District -driving to Hubberholme in The Dales -wandering around Hamlets and Villages to find footpaths to ancient ruins
Welcome back,if thinking of Kinder, Sat 9th would be a good day as its the village fete here, teas n buns, book , live bandstalls on the vicars lawn. And its usually a nice warm day, I think he has a word with him above the night before. If heading for the dales, definetly make it to malham, the "waterfall walk" at Ingeton also worth doing.Wharfedale might just be the most beautiful of the dales.but it is a really tough call.I think theres a series of concerts/shakespear at Sheffields Botanical gardens .Settle-Carlise railway. And

I am really glad you are thinking of Hubberholme - I think it's possibly the most wonderful place in the Dales. The road beyond there towards Gayle is a beauty in good weather. At Gayle there is the home of Wensleydale cheese and a restored mill. I certainly agree with the suggestions of Malham and the waterfalls walk at Ingleton. Another of my favourites that is relatively uncrowded is Austwick and the hills all round it - consider the Norber boulders.
Outside the Dales, Ripon and nearby Fountains Abbey are great.
I have visited all the locations mentioned for The Dales....and the sheer majesty of the landscape was overwhelming. The water fall walk at Ingleton was absolutely exhilarating and Austwick was delightful.
A few colleagues took me to Nottingham and we conducted a thorough pub crawl through the city center, beginning with "Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem."
