I found this flat and wondered what my London friends think about the location. Sounds good, but will it be too quiet at night because it is in a business area. Funny to ask that but sometimes too quiet can feel a bit unsafe walking around at night.

We just decided to pop over to visit our son who will be on junior year abroad and it will give us a chance to look at neighborhoods and rentals for our time abroad.

Last March when we came to London we splurged a bit on a LondonPerfect rental but this time we wanted to conserve our funds a bit. This place looks small but nice, which is just what we want. We would like to save some money but not have a dirty or uncomfortable place.

Thanks for any input. Let's also talk about another GTG. If we can't fit one in on this March trip we'll be over starting in August.

Thanks again,
Brenda

Oh, it is too late at night. Sorry, I forgot to add the link.

Here it is: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/England/holiday-apartment-London/p70909.htm

You are right, it is an area that empties out at the end of the business day - though I would not neccessarily say that would make it feel unsafe. I would happily walk around there at night because it's not a 'dodgy' area and Fleet Street is a main throughfare. (you can always pick up a cab) If Temple tube is only 5 mins walk away, then you have very good access via the circle and district line to, well, everywhere and there are lots of buses on that route. If it is right on Fleet Street, hope that the soundproofing is good, because the City and legal firms start work early and you could hear the grind of buses as your dawn chorus! I think it could be a lovely and slightly unusual choice - you could have a wander around the Inns of Court ( lots of bewigged barristers rushing from their chambers) and a hop from the Thames. Not too far from the Strand which is always busy or Covent Garden for a little theartre/restaurant nightlife.

I was wandering around there myself at night only a week ago and I didn't feel at all unsafe. There's a nice little fringe theatre nearby (with a nice bar) called The Bridewell.

I don't know whether there are masses of little neighbourhood eateries there or not but there are certainly pubs and you are within walking distance of the river. Plus as Panda says there are loads of buses.

This is slightly off topic - but my concern would be not where it is but how small it is - 20m2. That is really very very small.

It looks nice and maybe you are fine with the size.
