I will fly to Dublin from Italy this summer to meet family coming in from the US. My flight arrives at night, around 10:00 pm, and my family's comes in at 8:30 am the following morning. I'm wondering if it's worth it to try to venture into Dublin that night or if I should just opt to stay in a hotel near the airport. Any opinions?
I know there's a hotel at the airport. Anyone have sugestions for hotels or B&Bs near the airport that might be cheaper, assuming I don't go into Dublin for that night?
After we meet the family, we are heading to the Waterford area for a few days and not staying in Dublin.
There are a few options. You can stay at the clarion at Dublin Airport or there is a Tuplip inn about 10 minutes drive away. Also there are a few B&B's you can look at in Swords. Personally its too short a time to go into the city and back out in Rush hour traffic to meet the family. Stay in Swords or the airport. P.S. I live in Dublin
Clontarf Castle Hotel is only about 5 miles from the airport (sort of toward the center of town) and depending on what day of the week you will stay there, can be as low as 200 USD per night.
