Will be heading for Ireland next month and want to get some currency before arriving. I have been told that the EURO is used in Ireland. Is that true? If not can anyone advise what the currency is?
Thank you
Frank

Exactly. However, you will find some tourist shops in Ireland (north and south) accept major world currencies, particularly the US dollar! Shops in the north of Ireland frequently accept Euros - even the new Ikea (Swedish furnishing store) shop in Belfast does, as do shops such as Woolworths.

It should be noted, however, that if you avail of this option you will almost certainly be skinned alive by the poor rate of exchange so do please check the conversion!
