We had a similar experience at twice the price (and that was in 1988) at a hotel in Russell Square.

Not to blame the poor reviewer or anything, but a "Hotel California" in London (of all places) would have me wondering right away!

I don't doubt that there are many other "Hotel California" in (name the unlikely city) stories there out there!
