Note to Mods - this isn't a restaurant review just advice.

Gordon Ramsey has a restaurant at Heathrow called - Plane Food. I am NOT reticent in classifying Chef Ramsey as one of the world's greatest rectal orifices. If he worked in my kitchen his career would have been cut short because somebody would have stabbed him to death "accidentally" and then thrown him in the pot!!

But having had lunch at the restaurant I gotta admit the guy has the cooking chops to back up his arrogance.

Food was hot, tasty, beautifully presented and innovative and PRICEY!!

They also offer take away (US term carryout) pre-packaged meals. If you aren't careful when ordering one of their takeaway meals you end up with 2 salads. Appetizers and entres are mix and match so you can choose what sounds good to you.

The appetizers are all salad type items except the caprese which is cheese, tomatoes and basil. Then the entres are also a selection of salads. I caught this and did order the caprese and then the oriental type salad. But if you don't want a bounty of leafy greens watch the carry out menu carefully.

I suspect that's been tried before, but I think Gordon can take care of himself. I wouldn't take him on, that's for sure!

Well, what do you expect...airport prices Wink
When in England, I'll just stick to the fish 'n chips (and the full English breakfasts).

Airport Prices and big name chef restaurant. I didn't expect anything less. I'd just come from 6 weeks in Italy and could NOT face typical airport trash food. Besides which it's 12 hours to Phoenix and I knew I wasn't getting a decent meal on the plane.
