Hello,
I have returned from aday trip to London with my three boys (aged 10, 8 and 6), where I took them to the O2 to see King Tut's exhibition.

We travelled by train, speed boats and buses and had a great day out, full of history and hopefully a memorable experience for the children.

I have written a detailed report on my blog, although I didn't take any photo having left the camera at home. There are all the links to the relevant websites in case you want to plan your own visit and day out.

I didn't book the tickets in advance, so I had to take whatever time-slot was available for the visit to the exhibition, but that was OK. I did check in the morning if the day was almost fully booked so I knew that there were plenty of possibilities. Also, the time-slot they gave me wasn't that strict after all.

Claudia,
I have been planning to take my granddaughter to the King Tut exhibition! How perfect that you've posted about it here.

I'm thinking of going early in the week, like Tuesday, hoping it won't be so crammed with people.
Was it really packed when you were there, or was it comfortable?
Would you advise booking in advance for July?

Thanks for posting this, Caludia! Joanna's Dancing Man

"With artifacts between 3,300 and 3,500 years old, the exhibit gives a glimpse into the life of Tutankhamun and other royals. Tutankhamun died under mysterious circumstances around age 18 or 19, in the ninth year of his reign." ~ Yahoo! news

Hello! Nice to know that the info was useful ;-)

On Wednesday it wasn't busy or at least not as busy as I thought. You certainly were not alone in the exhibition, but you could move around. I did the mistake to queue up before my time slot, just a second before a group of 50 plus women joined the queue... The guards said I could go in, even if it was about 20 min before the time I was allocated, but may be I should have waited. They let in a certain number of people every so often. You enter this room where you watch a 90 seconds movie about King Tut and then you enter the various rooms at your own pace, but they make you wait before the video room, so the numebr of people that goes in each time I guess is pretty similar. Also I had tickets for 2:30pm, which may be a popular time. May be the earlier slots or later slots are better.

Regarding booking before hand, I don't think it is necessary. I checked the website before leaving home and it showed only a couple of slots around 1pm fully booked, but the rest of the day had availability. That's also why I said that earlier or later slots may be less popular.

Consider also that this week it is half term, so quite a few people around. I guess that during school week there may be school visits, but again if you go earlier or later in the day you should avoid this.

Hope this helps and enjoy the day!!!
