Meant to post here, but had trouble logging in. Good internet connection now and it's free.

We're in Scotland for the winter, and planning trips to England, Wales and beyond during that time. Yesterday my husband mentioned Morocco...

Hi, I'm leaving for Scotland in a few more hours and wanted to let you know that I'll be blogging. I'm spending 3 weeks , flying into Glasgow, then I'll head over to the Highlands (Brrrr), Isle of Skye then finish my trip off with 8 days staying in a vacation rental in Edinburgh. I will be driving on the left side for the first time too. Smile

If anyone is interested, here's my blog:

Trekcapri's Blog

Thanks so much again to the ST community. When I return, I will submit my reviews and post few of my observations and what I learned.

......and away! I haven't seen anyone able to manage an umbrella for the past couple of days - this is very windy! (As she retrieves the dustbins from the other end of the garden again)

yes, it sounds wild weather--i have repacked--all foul weather walking gear duly packed, check. Warm scarf, gloves and boots, check. I even threw in a couple of those instant heat hand warmers for beach walking. Actually just transferring what early Massachusetts winter demands to suitcase!

cheers, Meg

Having said that.......I have just noticed the sun streaming in the window and looked out. It is lovely now and the wind has dropped!

Just about what you can expect for the time of year and the thing about our island weather is that it can change pretty quickly. It's not cold here in the south (plenty out and about without coats, I'm going out in a moment in just a sweater) but there has been some very wet weather further north - Cumbria in particular, with more forecast for the weekend.

That old piece of advice about layering your clothes holds particularly true at the moment - it's as easy to get too hot as too cold.

The wind as Panda noted--was incredible. So were the waves, the rain and...the mud. Days and days and days...
