AutoEurope offer chauffeur services. I noticed that someone recently used my AutoEurope clickthru to book one.

Click Car Rental and then you will see car services for the UK.

We went to England in spring 2000 and I just got the name of two local agencies for the Cotswolds from the vacation rental agency. I picked one and they were great. Most of these car services are pretty good. We have used car services twice in Europe - England and in Naples. Both times the guys were there waiting for us - no problem.

What is the worse that can happen? They won't be there and you hop in a cab.

Post this question on a more trafficed board - like Fodors or AOL to get someone with personal experience.

Pauline= I did post on Fodors and also called London to Swiss Cottage Cars ( which do not have Vans)....so far no one has a service that they have used a van for..

we do NOT want to split up into 2 cars- I know it is doeable==and a Previa MPV will not work for a family of our size-- I just need to know who to contact....

How do you access AOL message boards-? I don't have AOL and have no idea where to look for their message board...

All help will be greatly appreciated...

You can only post or read the AOL boards if you are a member. Fodors has as much traffic - you may get an answer there. Or try that newsgroup rec.travel.europe. You can get there thru google. Here is a link:

You could try these people. They seem to offer to pick people up in large vehicles. When you find the site click on "Airport Transfer & Vehicle Services".

I have a wonderful, reliable driver that I use for my clients for London. His name is Ray Skinner, website is http://www.london-transfers.com .

Do know that with the weakness of the USD against the British Pound, and with a minivan and more than two persons, the price isn't going to be dirt cheap. Plus, there could be a surcharge for service on Christmas Day. But, I predict Ray will be the most reasonably and moderately priced available...that is why I've used him exclusively over others the last several years.

Would love to know if you make contact and it works out! Please tell him that I referred you.

Andy - I tried to email you directly with my message, at the email address shown for you on Slow Talk (imeldatoo_no_spam@msn.com <imeldatoo_no_spam@msn.com), but it comes back as undeliverable. If you want anyone from Slow Talk to be able to contact you directly, you need to correct the address.

Sorry Sally, but I missed this post. Just take the No Spam part out of the email address. People do this so web spiders (or whatever they are called) cannot pull addresses from a message board. A human "knows" to take out those words.

Any,

My company regularly uses a firm called Addison Lee here in London. They're pretty big and they usually send an 8-person van to pick up just me at the airport. Their web-site is www.addisonlee.com

There's also the Heathrow express to paddington Station, which is a really short hop in a black-cab to anywhere in Kensington (though for five people, it gets expensive)

Of course, if your luggage has wheels, the cheapest, and relatively easy, option is to simply take the Tube to central London and change where necessary.

Happy travels.

Stephen
