I have a one night stopover in Llangollen, N. Wales, in a couple of weeks. Anyone out there familiar with the town, or places of interest close by? Any recommendations for an evening out? Thanks!

We would have loved to be there for the International Eisteddfod when we were in Wales a few years ago. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't right.

The Restaurant that most people recommend in Langollen is the Corn millThe Corn Mill, which overlooks the river. It is easy to spend a few hours mooching around the town, which is very pretty.

However, it's worth taking a trip to the aquaduct, where the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire canal passes over the huge Thomas Telford Pontcysttle aquaduct -huge in height, not width, being wide enough for one barge and the footpath.

Theatr Clwyd in Mold is about 30 minutes drive( I think!) from Langollen, and they have some good stuff coming up.
