Hi All!!

My name is Carlos I'm 19 and from Colombia.
I'm planning to travel to visit UK.
I'm arriving on 3Th April and I'll live in Manchester, studding and traveling the weekends. My time there is 4 moths, 3 studding (English) and the 4th just traveling.

I've heard of sites like this that help youth travelers to know where to stay (hostels) places to visit and all that types of recommendations that one could need.

Different that in South America here in UK there are lots of sites for travelers but most of them are for rich people and a type of tourism that I don’t like, luxuries, hotels, spa!!! And other things that I thing doesn’t show you a really image of a country and its people and culture.

I’m not well at English, as you can see. I’m traveling alone so I’m preparing all my journey from here because I worried its going to be hard once there.

I appreciate any information you could give.

Thank lot !!!

Carlos.

Hi CDT!!!

I've been watching the pages you suggested me and... Thank you so much!!!.

I'll pay the YHA membership, I was going to do it on line but I don’t know if Should I get a 'Under 26' membership or an 'Overseas visitors' membership so I wrote them to know which to take!!!

Look! I found this:

http://www.nationalexpress.com/

It seems to be good and cheap, you pay a “Young Persons Coachcard” (£10 1 year) and there are goods discounts…. although do you know if there is any best than this???

More!!!!

I've been looking for other way to travel cheap and interesting and I've found pages of voluntary work, more less £100 you must pay and they give you bed and food and what I want.. You know different places and people.

Also I’m looking for part time courses and I’ve found some ones interesting ( some free!!! ; ) )….

I’m not seeing yet the Scottish one, I’ll do it right now and I’ll tell you latter.

Thank you very much indeed. Thumbs Up

April Fool
Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

glad to help,

you might want to check Student Identity cards as well

http://www.isecard.com/

They can get you discounts.

If you are traveling outside university term times, many universities rent out student accommodation cheaply in summer. With a student card you may also be able to get into the student union building where food & drink are cheap.
