I am looking for a hotel to crash at London Heathrow (LHR) in the fall - passing through for overnight stay - reasonably priced (such a thing in England!!??) . Suggestions please?

For three separate stays, I used Priceline and bid 3*, with rates ranging from $38 to $42 USD, and won the Holiday Inn Ariel. I can't guarantee you the same results, of course. But I was very happy with this, and the location is very convenient for the airport and even for getting into central London if you want. You could get a less convenient hotel if you use this method.

Check http://www.betterbidding.com if interested in using Priceline or Hotwire for a Heathrow hotel.

Check the Heathrow Airport website - I'm pretty sure it has links to nearby hotels.

Reasonable? Hmmmm....

Not exactly sure if 99Pounds qualifies or not, but that is the lowest rate (advance purchase) for the only hotel that is physically connected to Heathrow Airport--the Hilton London Heathrow Hotel.

If you have an early (or late) flight into/out of Terminal 4, you can't beat the convenience of the covered walkway that connects this hotel to the terminal.
