We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Scotland. Certianly, the highlight was a motor tour to Fife, including St. Andrews, Crail, Lower Largo, St. Monans Kirk and Anstruther. Our tour guide, Craig, was personable, very knowlegeable, and a delight to be with. I highly recommend his services for a day tour or longer. You can reach him at craig@mini-tours.co.uk
We loved Edinburgh and returned twice to a wonderful restaurant that is off the beaten path but not to be missed! "First Coast" is located at 97-101 Dalry Road in Edinburgh. You will find the freshest of ingredients served by a delightful wait staff in a mod setting of calm blue decor. The fresh mint and pea rissoto was worth two trips back alone! Not to mention the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Butterscotch and cream sauce...the best we had the entire trip!

I just submitted the restaurant review for First Coast. If you are out on the town for a real taste treat, don't miss it!

Hi, Barrmark. Thanks for the restaurant tip. I am going to Edinburgh on Sunday and will definitely eat there. I looked up their website and it looks terrific. I see that they have what we would call an 'early bird special' for a main course and dessert for L9.95! Can it be reached by public transportation?
Here's the website:

Thanks,

Mindy: I hope you enjoy your meal as much as we did. Yes, the bus makes stops very close to the restaurant. The neighborhood is very close to the Haymarket train station. Don't forget to have the Sticky Toffee Pudding.
