Hi Everybody,

I am a french student. The 25th of August, I go to the Notting Hill Carnival. I booked my train tickets but I need to book a studio and I am compelled to do it in advance because there will be a lot of people trying to go to London during this event.

What kind of studios could you advise me to reach rapidly this festival and how could I book it from France?
(I dont have illimited budget)

Thank you

George

George, welcome to Slow Travel Talk! I just want to clarify, when you say studio, do you mean a studio apartment (i.e., a one room flat)?

If so, have you checked our London Vacation Rental Reviews or our Slow Travel Favorite Agencies?

If you are on a very restricted budget, I would suggest looking at Gumtree in the Holiday Rentals section. I saw some there listed at £36 per week (but I can't say what the places are like, of course).

The other website to check out is: this one because it has a very good map of the Carnival area with an indication of what services will be running that weekend. Hope you find something to suit.

Thank you for helping me,

In fact, I don't want to be in a youth hostel, I am just searching for a quite comfortable single room in the centre of London, I can pay up to £60 because my aim is to be in Notting Hill Carnival in good conditions and not sleep with 15 people in the same room
Is there some flat to rent near Notting Hill or near Kensington?

Hi George & welcome to ST.

Most studio apartments are only available for a minimum of a week. There are some exceptions, but they tend to be more expensive.

It might be worth looking at cheaper hotels here or at ukhotel.

Good luck & enjoy the carnival!
