The Blind Man of Seville, Robert Wilson, Harcourt Books, 2003
I read his earlier book, The Company of Strangers, set in England, Germany and Portugal and in time from WWII to the present. It was a very good "spy/espionage/love" story.
His latest book is a traditional murder mystery set in modern day Seville. It is a very good story - a great mystery - and has good Seville scenes - even a bull fight! Read more on Amazon.com
This book is still in hardcover, but he has an earlier mystery called "A Small Death in Lisbon".
In the same vein, I thoroughly recommend "The Seville Communion" by Arturo Perez-Reverte. His other mystery-thrillers, set elsewhere in Spain, are also well worth reading.

I'm a big fan of Arturo Perez-Reverte's work, but could not get into "The Seville Communion!"
My favorite of his is still "The Flanders Panel," (even though I think he rushed the ending) because he created such fascinating, deep characters in that book. "The Club Dumas" didn't grab me quite as much, although the subject matter was interesting, and "The Fencing Master" falls somewhere between those two. Hmm... I think I've talked myself into trying again!

Thanks for the welcome to a very interesting board.
I liked "The Flanders Panel" very much as well, but part of my attraction to "The Seville Communion" was that I read it soon after visiting Seville and staying in the part of the city where much of the action takes place. You should give it another try.
