Going from Ulm to Fussen, I have the opportunity to take part of the Romantic road south of Augsburg. Is that stretch interesting at all and worth taking?

If you're interested in Baroque/Rococo architecture, there's a good reason to take the more direct, Autostrade route from Ulm to Füssen. Just south of Memmingen is the village and abbey of fficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi" TARGET=_blank>Ottobeuren. As you'll see from the photos, it's a marvellous place, if you like that sort of thing!

(on edit: I can't get the link to look right - but it works on my computer. Anyway, the abbey is at Ottobeuren)

If you have time I would highly recommend it. I drove the Romantic road in 2004 and it is breath taking to see the castles and little cities.
