This is my first post here on Slow Travel talk.

I am looking for information on an upcoming vacation to both Croatia and Venice. We will be flying into Venice and then heading to Porec for 7 nights. We will then head back to Venice for 3 nights.

The date of arrival in Venice is Sept. 30 and we would like to check into our hotel in Porec that same evening. We would then checkout and into a hotel in Venice on October 7.

I am looking for options for getting from Venice to Croatia and then back again.

I heard about a boat that runs between the two cities but ends I believe October 4.

I also heard about a company called I Tours that would have a driver pick us up at the airport and drive us to Porec for approx. $100 We could then use that same company to return to Venice.

I suppose we could also take a train or bus maybe. I would just like to hear my options.

Hi, John, and welcome to SlowTravel and SlowTalk. You can find a lot of good info on Croatia here, along with a forum for answers to your questions. I think this is the best site for info on water transport between Venice and Istria. One question: any reason you picked Porec over Rovinj? I think Rovinj is much more charming, with a great selection of restaurants, and there are a couple of lovely apartments I could recommend there, including Casa Geranium where we stayed.

We chose Porec not for one reason in particular. We are certainly planning to visit Rovinj.
