Hello all,

Has anyone here used this airline in the past year, and could share his opinion of the service he received, including value for money?
I'm considering using them for a flight to Italy this year.
Thanks,
Joe

joe n,
Have you checked

http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/tarom.htm ?

I used this airline often (when they used to have flights leaving from JFK) and my personal experience with them has been very positive: always on time, professional and efficient service, decent food. They may not have the most up-to-date inflight entertainment system but I certainly can cope with this!
Hope this helps!
Where are you flying from?

To Lumi2414 - thanks for the comments! I am aware of the site you linked me to, I just would prefer to receive feedback from members of Slowtravel, as I can corespond with them if necessary.
All that interests me in an airline is that their safety record is good and what you mentioned : efficient service and punctuality.
Actually, I've flown only once in the last thirty years, so I hardly have any experience with airlines...
I'll (hopefully) be flying from Israel to Milan,
and their flight (through Bucharest) is one of the cheaper regular flights.
Regards,
Joe

I have only positive experiences. Yes, not quite the slick service that some North American customers demand of their airlines, but friendly staff, really good on punctuality, and a network that serves spots bypassed by other carriers. Let's face it, if you are bound for Oradea, Suceave or Tulcea, you don't really have a lot of choice! Even a chance of a hot meal with real cutlery on some flights. You don't say where you are flying from when heading for Italy. But presumably from some lesser Romanian city, and for such flights I'd say TAROM would be very good. I was really impressed to find cabin crew who spoke not just Romanian, but French, Italian and Russian too.
Hope these few thoughts help.
