Can anyone give me any information regarding island of Skopelos? It's my first time visiting the Greek Islands and am thinking of spending a week there in August. many thanks - mille grazie Beth

We are renting a house their this time next year for a month. We have been looking to buy property there now for over three years. I have not been to Skopelos only to Skiathos a neighboring island where there is an airport. I have read copious amounts of info on this island and can't wait to go myself. Apparently Skpoelos does get the crowds of course in the summer but is not quite the disco mad scene that Skiathos is. THey have deliberately decided to not become another package holiday island. August of course will be the busiest time to go. Let us know how you like it.

We went to Skopelos from Skiathos a few years ago and really loved it. As Lesfaye says, it is much quieter than Skiathos, with an idyllic atmosphere of long days in the sun, evenings in small tavernas eating souvalaki and endless light sparkling on the water. I know this is a bit short on facts, but I am posting from a very cold and rainy England, waiting for our next monsoon to hit - just the thought of a Greek Island....!
