I were in Budapest last week and I found a very good weather, not cold: during the day, I could walk with a t-shirt, and in the evening with a pullover.
I suggest to visit Buda, the Parliament and go to Szecheny bath.

Margherita, How is the dollar exchange? Is it better than the euro?
We were thinking about taking 11 day tour that includes Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. The trip is scheduled for Dec to take in the Christmas Marts. The trip is being offered by one of the local colleges.
Thanks for any assistance

Kathy, I just checked oanda.com and currently one dollar is 173 Hungarian Forint. When I was in Budapest in 2001 it was one dollar to 300 Forint. So, the dollar has taken a dive there too.
However, you can get an awful lot for your Forint. A bus ticket is about a dollar, a pack of cigarettes about fifty cents. I would go for it!

Its not as cheap as I would have thought. Went to great resturant called Mandrin Cafe on O utica, despite name very good Hungarian Food. Wonder if it is still there. Hungary also has some bad inflation, 8-9 percent when I was there in 2007.
