Does anyone know if there are any discount airlines that fly out of Budapest to Italy? So far in my search I am coming up with nothing and thought that possibly there was one I didn't know about.

Check Which budget site. They only list Wizz air. Another user was asking about Wizz air service but no one in our community answered. I don't know how good/reliable they are.

A quick search at Momondo gave some results, and the cheapest one way ticket Budapest-Rome was about 130 USD (on a wednesday).

I flew Sky Europe from Venice to Budapest a couple of years ago.

I understand that the discussion was focused on discount airlines, but have you tried the Hungarian airline Malev?

I have friends who use it always when travelling to Europe and the feedback is that prices are very competitive and the service excellent. I believe they have direct flights from Budapest to Rome, Milan and Venice.

Hi,

I'm very informed about this matter as I use to travel a lot from Italy to Budapest. I suggest you to visit also the Meridiana web site: www.meridiana.it. It'a an Italian low cost company flying from Florence and Catania (Sicily) to Budapest. The other (and major) low cost company is Wizzair, which has replaced SkyEurope in the connections between Italy and Budapest.
I'm at your disposal should you need further details. Ciao, Fufffi :-)

A very nice feature to look-up possible low-cost routes can be found on the old site of momondo. Enter a departure airport, and countries/cities are listed with low-cost airlines. Low cost flights from Budapest are listed here Momondo

Dear Linda,
Budapest is a very nice city: if you have time and you like Thermes, go to Szechenyi baths. Then I suggest you to eat a cake at Jegbufe in Ferenciek Tere, and take a coffe at Gerbaud café in Vorosmarty Ter. If you have time, visit also Szentendre, a small town at 20 km from Budapest (local train from Battiany Tere). I don't know if you need info about Budapest, but if you want more info, ask me. Ciao, Margherita.

A good way to find which airlines fly between whichever cities you want to visit is to look at the airport websites. They list all airlines flying in and out of their facility.
