We have been home almost a week from our five weeks in Switzerland, staying in Brienz, Epesses, Pontresina and Appenzell. And it's wonderful!

We liked Switzerland, specifically the Berner Oberland, so much that we booked an apartment in Brienz for three weeks for the end of November 2007 before leaving Brienz. We were told that November is a "sad" month but we want to experience it anyway.

After I get caught up here at home and work (everything is piled up after being gone for 10 weeks), I will work on vacation rental reviews. Catching-up was slowed down because I broke one of my teeth three weeks ago that required a root canal this week.

We rented 8 different apartments - four in Italy and 4 in Switzerland.

We asked ourselves why we waited so long to visit Switzerland. Now it's a favorite. It's beautiful, clean and affordable (or should I say, not anymore expensive than Italy or France?). We had variable weather - apparently much more wet than usual and rather cold in Pontresina (late June) and rain almost everyday and almost all day in Appenzell (in July!). We found the Swiss very nice and likeable people; the countryside and mountains beautiful (did I say that already?).

So we return to Brienz in November, and can hardly wait!!

We too love Switzerland, and have recently been wondering about the prices there since they didn't change to the euro...which was probably a good thing! We'll be interested to read your trip report!

Hubby and I actually had our honeymoon in Switzerland - we spent two weeks there one November. It is anything but "sad." It's actually really nice then because it's in-between the summer tourists and the winter skiing crowds.
