Jessica sent us a great article on the historic village of Gruyeres, in western Switzerland.

Gorging on Gruyeres

Steve and I did this same day trip (but did not go to the cheese museum) a few years ago. Gruyeres is a lovely village!

Jessica is an American living in Switzerland and runs the blog In Search of Dessert

Thanks Jessica!!

We visited Gruyeres at the end of June 2007. We really liked this village and its castle. We stopped at the Gruyeres store and bought a piece of Gruyeres for lunch. Yum.

We also visited the Appenzeller Cheese factory on the other side of the country and was served a beautiful (and generous) plate of cheese with bread and fruit (complimentary). Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks, Jessica! That sounds like a great little village. I swear, someday we'll make it up that way. I'm ready to come just for all that yummy dairy fat! Big Grin
