I AM TRAVELING TO ITALY IN SEPTEMBER AND STAYING IN THE VILA IN TUSCANY FOR A WEEK.WE WILL HAVE 4 DAYS BEFORE CHECKING IN.I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE A TRIP TO DUBROVNIK CROATIA VIA FERRY.DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT FLIGHTS FROM ITALY TO DUBROVNIK DIRECTLY? HOW ABOUT RENTING A CAR IN ITALY AND TAKING IT ON A FERRY TO DUBROVNIK?

You can use a site such as Mobissimo.com to look for flight options between your city of choice in Italy and Dubrovnik.

You'd need to check directly with rental agencies about taking a car from Italy into Croatia - many agencies don't allow it.

Hi Nat,
Your itinerary idea is a little complicated but doable if you want to take the time. From Italy, there is only one ferry to Dubrovnik and that leaves from Bari in the south. From northern Italy, there are boats from Venice to Istria and Trieste to Istria and Zadar. From Rijeka (near Istria) and Zadar there are coastal ferries to Dubrovnik. It's a nice trip. There are usually direct summer flights from Milan and/or Rome to Dubrovnik.
