We are at the end of our first week of vacation rental and having a fabulous time. I posted the first two parts of my trip report - arrival in Zurich and a week in Engelberg:

I have added new stuff to the Switzerland section too - restaurant notes, hiking in Engelberg (much of this is copied from the trip report), food shopping, etc.

Next week Grindelwald!! We are having great weather and doing lots of hiking - and not much else.

Nice hat, Pauline! LOL.

What spectacular photos! Truly gorgeous scenery, and the hiking sounds wonderful. Although my toes curled just from looking at photos of that gondola. Bring me home a goat, OK?

Glad you're having such fun. Enjoy weeek 2!

Pauline-

Great report- sounds like you and Steve are having a fantastic trip. Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Can I have a souvenir goat, too big grin Of course, since I live in an apartment, I'll have to keep "Billy" or "Nanny" at Amy's.

Pauline, I really enjoyed your report, almost makes me feel like putting on one of my moms old dirndles (SP?)and hitting those hills. I love the cows on the path, what an amazing photo. cool
So are you sick of the Rosti yet? Guess the Swiss haven't picked up on the fact that millions of people are vegetarians. Kind of reminds me of a movie I just saw, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. A great line came from Andrea Martins character, she said oh your a vegetarian, well then I'll cook lamb! big grin
