Italy and London have limited traffic areas (and New York almost did, up until the vote to kill the idea for the time being). Does Frankfurt?

I don't really know the answer to your question, Ellen, but I wouldn't recommend doing much driving in Frankfurt anyway. It wasn't easy several years ago, and I'm sure it hasn't gotten any better. I'd just park my car in a garage in the center and then walk or take public transportation.

What do you think, Diana?

I don't believe that Frankfurt has introduced the Verkehrsmaut (the sticker for driving in town) yet -- Stuttgart has it, and Frankfurt has been talking about it for years. I very much agree with Ann about driving in Frankfurt. Park the car and enjoy a very, very good public transportation system which will take you to all of the city's highlights, from the Fressgasse to the Palm Garten.
