Wow! Sounds like an action-packed trip! Reading it brought back our 1998 trip. Was that your kids' first trip to Europe? I'd be interested to know what they thought.
We walked through the Marais on a Saturday morning in June; the air was full of the sound of men worshipping in the synagogues. Needless to say, everything was closed, so we didn't get to eat at Jo Goldenberg's. But we enjoyed the Place des Vosges immensely.

We took the kids on a two week trip to Italy last year. Out of the two trips, I think they enjoyed London best because (a) they speak the language and (b) they really , really liked Camden Lock.
Next time you're in Paris, hit the Marais on a Sunday. Since this area is populated with both Jews and Muslims, who worship on Saturday, Sunday is a happening time! The boutiques ignore the laws about being closed on Sundays. And don't miss the Richard Lenoir market. I really enjoyed this better than the Rue Cler. Richard Lenoir is also on on Thursdays, though Sunday was the better of the two days.
