I am planning to visit Greece (with a friend) for 10 days in the first weeks of September and am seeking recommendations for where to visit/stay centrally located. I'm not looking to visit any historical sites this time around - this a trip of pure relaxation and leisure. I simply want great views, great food, fun people, fun nightlife, and wonderful memories. this trip is a much needed time away. Where should I start? Which island(s) should be at the top of my list? I only have 10 days and I dont want to live out of a suitcase and hop from place to place adn only enjoy each stop for 2-3 days....so with having said that, maybe I can stretch my trip to 12 days and go to 3 spots. Thank you for your recommendations.
Hi, Jessica. My husband and I are going to Italy and Greece in approx. 28 days (not that I'm counting!!) We're spending the first 2 weeks in Italy then on to Greece for our final week. We're starting on Santorini for 4 nights then Athens for 3 nights. I'll make sure to post after we get back and let you know how it worked out. This is my first time booking hotels on line so I'm hopeful that it all works out okay. Will be in touch.
Santorini is certainly a good spot.Myconos,too. You can take the ship from Piraeus and choose whatever island of the Aegean see you want. For instance the ship to Myconos(In Easter and in summer you can meet celebrities from all over the world),first pass from Syros(you should visit it...it will remind you Italy...,then from Tinos(the holy island of Panagia-mother of Christ)and then Myconos. From Myconos thera are ships for the neighbouring island of Delos, the deserted island of Apollon with the ancient temples. Of course you can visit Paros,Naxos. These as far as the cyclades complex of islands is concerned. You can visit Dodekanisa complex of islands especially Rhodes the island of knights. If you visit Crete you will need to travel with car or bus because it is the largest island in Greece. Keep in mind the islands of Ionian sea...Corfu,Zakinthos,Leukada,Ithaka etc There are so many islands. So you have to make a program first. Hope you have a good time in Greece.
