We will be in Brussels one night, coming from Brugge, before we fly home via BRU. I'm trying to decide whether to stay in a hotel near the airport or stay in Brussels. Our flight leaves at 9:30AM. I'd like to maximize what sightseeing we can of Brussels in one day but make our departure convenient too. Any suggestions? Thanks!

flennie, we had the same schedule in 2005. We spent a week in Brugge and flew out of Brussels. We opted to stay overnight in the city and had the hotel call us a taxi for our early flight home. It was easy and was no hassle.

Have a great time in Brugge. It is one of our favorite medieval cities. We are going back the last week this month to see the city again, see some friends we have made since our first visit in 1999 and to buy chocolates, of course.
