With major airlines popping in and out of bankruptcy and lesser financial trouble for the last two years, I've found it hard to keep up. I've seen attractive fare prices from US Airways on travel to London for next year. Do any of the more seasoned amoung you have suggestions for how far in advance and with whom one should buy airline tickets?

US Air is still in bankruptcy, as I recall...or just out. Has been going on for seveal years, but keeps right on flying. I warn clients so they will have full information, but do book US Air regularly if it's the one that makes sense for schedule and fare. Also regularly book NW/KLM, Delta and Continental among others.

I watched prices on USAir, but got much better prices from Virgin Atlantic.
