Alice, the dish you had chunks of veal in a lightly spiced tomato sauce, I am sure I had the same thing in December when we were in Greece. The sauce was wonderful with a hint of cinnamon I think, same as with Moussaka? Did you taste the same thing? I want that recipe!!! I don't suppose you have any idea of how to make that????? Thanks!

It was a lightly spiced sauce, with no relation to moussaka which has a sort of ragù. If you want that kind of lightly spiced sauce, in greece there are cans of tomato already spiced with cinnamon, mutmeg, cloves and, I think, pepper.

No no, I know Moussaka, I make it myself I just meant that the sauce has cinnamon in it the way it does in the tomato ragu sauce in Moussaka. Maybe I can find it in my old greek cook books...I will look for that canned sauce though next time I am in Greece...which won't be till 2008..
