Arrived yesterday in Zürich. At the passport counter I noticed that they make a photocopy of every passport entering Switzerland. Gosh. Never seen that before here in Switzerland. Kind of scary ¨!

Later this year, Switzerland should join the Schengen area. I believe there are some problems with Greece (they forgot to officially approve the Swiss request) and Liechtenstein (that has a free border with Switzerland) delaying the switch, but they hope to do it in 2008.

That must be a new thing - I've come and gone from Switzerland dozens of times in the last two years, and never had my passport photocopied. Crazy!
