My family will be renting a house either near Cordes-Sur-Ciel or St. Cirq in SW France for a week in June. We will have a total of 17 days for our trip and have plans to fly into Barcelona and out of either Nice or Marseilles. We would like to spend a few days in Barcelona, then make a slow drive to the rental, which is only 4 1/2 hours away, stopping in Girona, Cadaques and Carcassonne (maybe just dropping in here. After the rental, I would like to at least visit Arles before flying home, but would also love to see some other area on the French Riviera, but think it is too far away. I am open to suggestions. Avignon sounds lovely but busy. Is Marseilles worth a visit?
