I am very interested in using this service to avoid dragging our luggage from train to train after the overnight flight from the States. However, we are staying in Lauterbrunnen which is not one of the places that offers the service. I am wondering if we could have the luggage sent to Wengen, Grindelwald or even Interlaken - then pick it up late in the afternoon when we arrive.(We should get to Lauterbrunnen around noon on the day of arrival) Which of these would be the easiest to access after that wonderful transatlantic flight?

Where are you flying in to?

There is information here on a baggage service that delivers to Lauterbrunnen from locations all over Switzerland....

Sorry I didn't write that we are arriving in Zurich. I did look at the link mentioned and found that the service does include Lauterbrunnen. Do you retrieve your baggage after you arrive and then deliver it to the service at the train station? Is there someplace that gives more information on this service?
Thanks for your help.

We did a long distance hike in Switzerland a few years ago, and our luggage was transported each day on the Swiss transportation system. The Swiss are extremely organized about things like this.

I looked around a bit to see if I could find any more information on the internet. There is a little bit of info on the SBB site, but I think you should call or e-mail the Swiss Tourism office. I'm sure they can give you more information.

Five years ago I did the reverse and sent a bag from a train station in Switzerland back to the US. It worked like a charm. A brief account that I posted on Slowtalk.
