Have you looked at any apartments ? I'm also trying to plan a trip to Krakow (in October). I was looking at various apartments and most are pretty reasonable and there are plenty to choose from in the city center area. Sodispar, Krakow apartments and Krakow homesall had apartments we were considering, we are booked for October at the Sophia apartment with Sodispar. Go Gators ! Colleen

Hi, Try this place: http://www.wit-stwosz.com.pl/We stayed here in 2003, and enjoyed it very much. The rooms were very nice, the breakfast excellent and it would be difficult to find a more convenient location in the center of Krakow. Do enjoy your trip - we spent a month in Poland, and loved it. If I can be of further assistance, let me know. -Richard

Colleen: Thanks for the apartment links. I have looked at the Sodispar website but I don't think I have explored the Krakow apartments/homes website. I was trying to find something half way between an apartment and a hotel because my husband is somewhat uncomfortable staying in an apartment. BTW, the Gators winning the tournament was the upset of our office pool. What a tournament they had!
Richard: Thanks for the hotel recommendation. It is one of the hotels we are considering, especially now that we are shortening our stay in Krakow to 4 days so we can explore Zakopane.

Margie - just to confuse you more. We stayed last year at Hotel Saski which we found very reasonable (although I think all the prices in Krakow have gone up quite a lot lately) www.hotelsaski.com.pl It is SO convenient because the central market square is just up the street. Our room was very quiet and comfortable, the breakfast buffet style and excellent and the staff charming although English speaking was minimal but we found smiling a lot works wonders. They have triple rooms as well. We just got a regular town bus (very cheap!) from the airport and asked for the market square. Had we not missed our stop (our Polish is very limited!) we would just have had a little five minute walk to our hotel. Felicity
