I have just added Massimo and Biancamaria (Rome-is-home) to the participants at the GTG! Turns out Lia and Biancamaria already know each from some time back. Small world, but beautiful!
Wow! Almost missed this one! You still got space for me? I will be working at the Vatican until about 1:15 or so that day. I will pop in when I am done and hopefully there will still be some food left for me.

Tony, I was SO hoping you will see it! I bumped this thread when I saw your post on the October GTG! We will be very happy to see you, and space should not be a problem, or food, for this matter. You're in! I will now update the list of participants, so that Lia and I will figure how many we will be for the complete rollcall.
HI! I'm back home in Rome! On Monday morning I will call back Dar Pallaro to add 4 more people at our meeting on 5th september (we will be 14, ok?) Ciao! Lia
Thanks, Lia, for taking care of the reservation. Sandra just sent me an email saying she regrets but won't be able to attend as she has to go to Cagliari on a business related trip.
Almost as advertised, the GTG included Lia and a friend, Francesca Doug, Liz, and their sons Steve and Brad Massimo and Biancamaria KatB and Peter Tony da Roma (arrived a bit late, after a Vatican Tour) Josette and Doru
Lots of photos - but not until later this month when we return home. I'm typing from an Internet Point just across the Tiber from our apartment in Trastevere - not a good time to be relaxing & telling stories of our 12 days in Italy.
We've also had a great GTG, including pics, with Gavin & Cheryl Crawford from Sydney Australia, a very memorable Notta Bianco (sp???), a shortened trip to Capri & lots of excellent adventures.
We're off to Paris tomorrow - 2 days there, then down to the Luberon for 10 days.
The lunch was very nice and the Slowtravelers too! I laughed a lot, me and Francesca have been very happy to know all S.T. "pen" friends: Doru and Josette, KateB and husband, Doug and Liz...I regret only that we were at the other end (how do you say? it's correct? May be it is better "on the other corner")of a long table and couldn't speak very much with Doug and family (probably their sons were a little annoyed because we were all older then them!!!). As for the meal: the prosciutto was very good, we drunk quite a lot of white wine...was very difficult to go to work in the afternoon... I'm waiting the photos from Doug and Doru, I took only 2 with the cell. phone and they are quite horrible. Hoping to have another meeting very very soon. Lia

Hi, Lia! We're back in Rome, after a great time in South Tuscany. Thank you so very much for making the arrangements for the GTG; it was great meeting you and Francesca. We've "discovered" the musical evenings at Teatro di Marcello and will be heading there this evening as well. Good music, great atmosphere!
Dear Doru: how long will you and Josette stay in Rome? I would like to arrange tickets for something in Auditorium at Santa Cecilia but I cannot remember if you are just leaving tomorrow. Lia
Thank you, Lia! We're leaving on Saturday morning and tomorrow night, alas, we pack. It will not work out but we will keep the promise for the next time we're in Rome (there will always be a next time...)
Great pics Doru and Doug! It's always a pleasure to see images from the GTGs of this beautiful ST community!
