Hi all

I plan to spend a week in Florence, arriving from Ferrara 30 October and leaving for home early am 7 November.

Am up for a GTG, preferring dinner but wholly flexible.

We will be in Rome Nov.3-9, Florence 9-12, Venice 12-16.
I would have loved to meet up with you.

I think Olive Oil, a new member, may be in Florence during your dates, you might want to post on the Italy board?

Oh rats, Debra, sorry to be missing you. But sounds like a great trip for you.

Is Olive Oil's trip on the calendar? I'll check her posts.

(Edited to add) Looks like the only time Olive Oil and I could meet would be in the airport; she is due to arrive the day I leave.

Hi Marian,

My husband and I will be about an hrs drive from Florence in our home during that time. We are planning either a day trip or overnite to FI but not sure exactly when. We leave for the States on the 4th of Nov.
We are ex- Jersey Shore people with family still there!

I'll be in Florence Nov. 3, 4 & 5, available for dinner the 3rd and 4th (not the 5th). I'll be on a tour, but we're free for dinner. I'd love to get together with some others from this board!

Great, Beth!

Let's say Wednesday the 3rd, as I just got some concert tickets for the 4th. We can talk later about where.

Anyone else?

Curious, Marian...what do you have concert tickets for on the 4th? I've been interested in possibly finding something to go see/hear.

Hi Beth

I am going to a concert at the Teatro Comunale; also going there on the 2nd. The concert on the 4th is in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Arno flood.

Concerto per I 40 Anni dall'Alluvione di Firenze
Conductor: Giuseppe Mega
Music by: G. Rossini
Location: Teatro Comunale, Florence (# Seats - 1,890)

I bought the ticket on line through Music in Italy (see the link on Slow Trav). Please join me if you wish.... Note

Florence has lots of evening concerts that are free or close to free, especially in Santa Maria dei Ricci, also Orsanmichele, also the English Church (name?) in the Oltr'arno. You can find out about those when you get there.
