I'll be in San Francisco for a yoga training July 20-25. I'll be leaving on the Sat. the 26th, but will be free Sun-Fri nights for drinks, dinner, you name it. My classes run 12-4.30 every day in the Mission area but I'll be staying in the North Beach/Chinatown area.
I'll be solo in the city so it would be great to see some of you!
Edited to include date/time/location.

Hey there Kathy -- glad you posted. Bill & I would be delighted to see you again - if we are not hosting two teen aged grandsons during that time period. Will check in with you early in June, when plans for their visit are set.

I told my daughter that I will "vacation" in SF (where she lives) this summer... I live 45 minutes southeast of SF... And daughter said "Great"...so I will be there parttime...
Since I signed up to work summer school, 4 day work week, with Fridays off, I'd love to meet up with you for drinks, dinner, or all of the above on Friday, July 25th.
Eden, Friday is great for me as it's my last day of training. I'm sure I can sneak in a drink or dinner that night. You betcha.
Judy, you can always bring the boys in for dinner. I'd be happy to meet them! We could even go to Ghirardelli after for dessert or hot cocoa. I'm a sucker for that place, big time. I plan on indulging whilst I'm there.
I was just telling my Santa Cruz daughter that I want to come up and spend some time with her in July; if I can make it work, it looks like your SF week is the best one for that. So maybe I will be able to join you all one night in my favorite city.
Actually we have met. I was at SlowBowl in Paso Robles in February. But there were such a crowd and so much to do... I look forward to meeting you in a smaller gathering.

Cathy, my bad. I met so many great people in Paso but spent most of my time catching up with old friends. I welcome the chance to spend some quality time getting to know you. If I'm lucky I'll meet up with several of you on different nights. I have six nights free!
We are planning a trip to the Bay Area this summer, maybe I can make it work for this week and get in on the GTG.
I think we'll be staying in Berkeley. I have been really longing for dinner at Chez Panisse. Does anyone know how hard it is to get reservations there?
You can call for reservations up to a month in advance, but it fills up quickly. The Cafe upstairs is a little easier than the restaurant downstairs, I believe. Here is the reservation policy http://www.chezpanisse.com/pgreservation.html

I have decided to stay in the Haight-Ashbury area as I love the Golden Gate Park and want to stay in a real neighborhod. I'll be at The Metro Hotel on Divisadero Street. There is a cool little restaurant next to the hotel called Metro Kathmandu that has been highly recommended and has a sweet happy hour from 5-7 (as well as a patio out back). Just a thought.
Let's make some plans to get together! All work/training no play makes Kathy a sad little tutu.
Kathy, I'm so sorry I'm going to miss being in the city when you are. I just booked a quick getaway on JetBlue from the 8th-14th. Combining some family affairs with a mini vacation. I'll try to check out some of the mentioned art exhibits and Metro Kathmandu if time permits. Wish it were the same week when you are here.If I find any other hidden jewels, I'll share. Barb Cabot

As you know we are still working on a plan to get up north for a few days at the end of the month. If David can work at the SF office, we could be there and up for an evening out on the Friday of that week? Anyone else? Our plans are not yet written in stone, let alone tufa.
Eden, I'll be staying in the Oakland hills for the week but will probably take Bart into SF alot. I hope to explore the exhibits everyone talked about on the boards esp the Women's Impressionist exhibit. Also would like to do some shopping in Berkeley (4th st. area) and the city. It'll be a quick trip but I do love the bay area. Barb Cabot

I'm planning on going to the Frida Kahlo exhibit and the Women Impressionists exhibit. I'm trying to decide if I need to buy my ticket now or wait and do the half price Thursday night thing (you can only get those tickets in person at Moma). Thoughts?
The Women Impressionists exhibit has specific scheduled viewings and they only run up until 4.00 p.m. Might be tough for me unless I can sneak in on Saturday before I head home or go when I arrive on Sunday.
If anyone wants to meet me for the Frida Kahlo exhibit we could do an evening viewing and then grab some food/wine. Another option.
And it looks like Friday the 25th will be the GTG night. Here's hoping Marcia and David come up to play!
Looks like I will have to pass on this one. I will have my 16 and 12 year old grandsons visiting, and "weird" food in SF will not fly with them. But I'll be thinking of you. I know you will have a great time.
