Short drive is the priority for me too.

You are doing a great job Doug!

Did you understand that it was a copy of a post that I just pasted in? those were not my opinions.

Jan,

Yes, I did..

Judith has been to both and she said Rocco's is better so I will see if we can book over there.

I'll work on it on Monday!

It should be a lot of fun.... and we are looking forward to it!!!

Based upon opinions, reviews and others who have first hand tried it, we are going to shoot for Rocco's in Winter Park for dinner.

I will get with them this week to see about accommodating us. $$-wise Antonio's and Rocco's are about the same but Rocco's has the better food. It is also easy to find for all of you.

Hopefully our new Cucina Due will be open by then as we might be able to have a "GTG in the Piazza" before we do dinner. I will also check with them on that idea as well. Cucina Due is a new gourmet market/wine bar right in Winter Park and only about 1 mile from Rocco's.

More to follow for you all.... Wink

Thanks Doug for all the planning. Sounds good to me. I'll probably do a little shopping on Park Ave. I love that street!

Okay everyone... time to vote....

We have ROCCO'S which is in Winter Park and has VERY good food.

And we have ANTONIO'S which is in Maitland and has acceptable food.

The question is, price wise, which do most of you prefer??? Rocco's is a little higher but the quality of what we'll eat is better and is also a smaller place.

Antonio's on the other hand is a little lower in price and has lots of room to accommodate us but we may lose some of the ambiance.

I could use a few ST thoughts from you all and I'll book the reservations this week.

Thanks!!

BTW... they are about 2 miles apart on the same road so travel is not the issue... just the food.

I personally vote for Rocco's but I would like to hear the others chime in...

Which one do you think would be most comfortable for us as a group? Could we have a private space in either one?

I hate to answer a question with a question but...

Either one but I believe Rocco's would be a little more intimate for us. Judith has been and said either one can take on a big group with no problem.

BTW... she votes for Rocco's too.. Big Grin

I PM'd all who I found in Florida a while back on our rosters and told them to check the thread.

A few have chimed in via direct email and it looks like about 25 for our deal.

Feel free to do so if you want to contact them. I'd appreciate the help!!

Thanks!

Food and price are second to us. The purpose is to meet and greet, so the room should be conducive to that.

We will trust your judgement.

Thanks for your hard work.

Doug,
My husband Tommy and I plan to attend, I have made reservations at the Maitland Marriott Courtyard.

Our three elderly "Grannies" are stable at the moment and we will definitely be there unless they have another crisis.

I will look you up in Atlanta,

Okay Shannon ... we are booked at Rocco's for 7:00 PM on the night of January 26th. Pig

What I will do is post what they are going to do for us. They do not have round tables but he'll put together a nice 'U' shaped format for us to allow for conversation.

He is also going to assemble, individually plated, antipasti and primi assortments to allow us to sample a bit of each item and then have us each order individually off the menu for secondi.

That sounded like a good idea to me and I'll keep you posted as we progress....

However, MARK THE CALENDAR.... We are ON for Rocco's on the 26th of January!! Wine Wine Wine

To all of you... from Judith and I....

Buona Natale!! Rudolf

... and we'll see you all on the 26th!

We have downloaded the menu and are studying our options.

This will be difficult.

Looking forward to breaking bread with all.
