We've been having some conversations on this thread about making a return trip to Savannah, because there was so much to see and do and we felt like we just ran out of time this past April!
At first it was just a few people talking about it, but the thing has legs now, and it looks like there are more than a few ST'ers who wish for a return trip!
So, at Leslie's suggestion, I'm starting a new thread here for anyone who wants to come to Savannah next February/March for a few days or longer, whatever suits you!
We're looking at a 3 to 4 day weekend in February for the GTG, then anyone else that wants to stay longer can do so. Because it's such an expedition for me to get there from here, I'll likely stay on for a week or more.
If you missed this year's Great Gathering or if you'd just like to be there again, let us know!
"Most of Oglethorpe's city has passed on to the ghostly realm, too, but his urban-planning legacy remains: a walkable, bikable, town, one of the loveliest haunts in the South." ~ Chris Dixon Brenda
Well, so far we are up to 20 plus people and counting with Slow Travelers arriving from as far away as Canada, California and Texas! This is going to be great and we are still 10 months away. The date is March 5-8th 2009.
I guess a good time was had by all in Savannah this past GTG. Please make plans to join us if you can. We would love to see you.
Well this just totally sucks! I'm not giving up, however, that you'll change your mind.
Hey Kendall, how 'bout you and I drive up to MO and kidnapp Jen? Of course she'll have to sign a waiver stating that alcohol was not used to entice, lure, or tempt.
WE WANT JEN! WE WANT JEN! WE WANT JEN!! Lulu's chocolate bar beckons.....
we love ya girl and hope things work our for the positive!
Thanks so much Leslie...If anyone is going to be shopping..I am not sure where Ginger purchased the lovely Santa Maria Novella scent, I would gladly send a little $$$ your way to pick me up a little bottle..seems to me that the store was located near the Lady and Sons??
And my Big Sis Mindy, of course I would LOVE to have a little ring like the green one that you have...you know how I love to copy....
p.s. Mindy-I called you tonight after class...WOW is all I can say
Jen, Jen, Jen... Please change your mind, if possible...we will miss you like crazy.
The Paris Market on Brocante sells SMN products, so that's likely where Ginger's scent came from. They will mail out, I'm sure.
If you change your mind, we'll find a gorgeous place for you to stay, no problem!
"Ahh, Savannah in the spring. The almost schizophrenic color of azaleas, dogwoods, redbud's, and cherry trees has climaxed, the majestic oaks have erupted with new leaves, and the intoxicating scent of jasmine and honeysuckle is everywhere. The green of spring is unlike any other green in the color spectrum. My beloved, but not-too-smart dove family, has again setup a nest in the palm tree outside my back porch – perfectly situated at eye level – and the chimney sweeps have taken roost in our fireplace. We are currently enjoying the month before the oppressive humidity and bloodthirsty gnats turn outdoors into a drippy, slappy, feeding frenzy." ~ Paris Market blog Brenda
