My BW (Beautiful Wife) & I will be Paris on the above dates, effectively October 22-27. We will be staying in the Marais, near the Hotel de Ville. Anybody interested in a GTG for coffee, drinks or lunch?

Hello again,

The 24th is fine for us. We had to move a couple of meetings around but, just kidding....actually I really just wanted to make sure they were OK with meeting my online slowtrav buddies! It is a little hard to explain at first, "um, do you want to meet some people I know from the internet?" Wink Grin

So just name the time and place.

Paris is so diverse depends what you like
A) do you want just a place for drinks and chat
Footsie's
B) a place to drink but some food and TV screens
O'Sullivans
C)a place just to talk lightly and have a great meal Brasserie Opera Madeleine
D) a succulent place to indulge in a fine view with good food
Altitude 95
E) a fancy French restaraunt to show off
Cafe de la ¨Paix
F) any other questions?suggestions? ideas?

I am all ears.

Definitely not B, no TV screens! I get enough of that at home Smile

I think we are more inclined to some drinks and chat, so A sounds like a good plan to me. How about you Mr and Mrs. P?

Hi Casole,

I agree about the TV screens. I'm not sure if Footsie's "gimmick" appeals to me.

I've been looking at Café des Musées, 49, Rue de Turenne - in the Marais, about equidistant from Place des Vosges & the Picasso Museum. Any opinions?

Hi Doug,

The Cafe des Musees sounds perfect, esp location. I don't know anything about Footsie's, other than I thought it was an odd name! If it works for Pedmar, it works for us!

Footsie's is near place vendome and it more cozy parisien small; the concept is like a stock exchange on a screen you order drinks as the prices go up and down so you pick the one that went down:its a unique concept.with 22 recomms!!!
http://www.fra.cityvox.fr/bars-et-boites_paris/footsie_34456/Profil-Lieu

so :you tell me? how about Au Trappiste 4 rue st denis metro RER chatelet i go there often with friends great monks bar excellent beer

you can go thru the site and choose; you can change the language to english but the recomms are local in french

Hi all,

Now I get it, FTSE's, like the exchange! That does sound fun. The thing I like about Doug's suggestion is it is on the street we are staying on, therefore we are pretty much guaranteed not to get lost finding it! That is a plus.

Casole

P.S. I'm going to put my trip reports in a signature at some point soon, so you can take a peek if you like. I read yours Doug and loved them! And I visited your site too Pedmar, 49 countries is it? Wow!

Hi pedmar & casole,

I've been away for a couple of days. So, where are we going to meet? I'm not enthusisatic about a bar - would prefer a late-morning meeting with the option of lunch OR a 4-5:00 pm meeting over a bottle of wine.

Hi,

We think 4-5 over some wine sounds perfect. We're not big into bars/beer either, so Pedmar, if you want to plan for 4 PM at Cafe des Musees I think that would work best for the six of us.

Looking forward to it!

ok no problem like i say you are the visitors
so Café des Musées at 49 rue turenne metro saint paul line 1 or metro chemin-vert line 8
tel of café is 01 42 72 96 17.
however at that time i can only go to meet you since my wife is still working. it will be good for me as I have a general assembly meeting of the American University Clubs in Paris at 7pm.so i am planning not to have any work that whole day. i am a consultant ERP accounting systems, and I am now near Rambouillet west of Paris.
