I know - it's early- but thought I'd get this started. Will be in Torino in late October, and would love to get together with whoever else is in town. Diva will be there, attending the Salone del Gusto, and I think Jonathan will as well. Diva suggests dinner at Tre Galline (closed Sundays). Let me know if you are interested, and what date(s) work best for you.

I'll be up north, but further east in the Emilia-Romagna area. At least that's the plan now.

Well Marian - as you have been known to drive from New York to Boston for a GTG, how about just popping up to Torino to join us there!

We will be there as well, probably with my mom, who will be visiting from the States.

Just got a note from Jonathan, who said he would probably only be in Torino the 26th/27th. And Bill & I arrive the 27th -- how about dinner that evening?

Can you tell I'm anxious for October to arrive?

Hi Judy ---

Just popping in here to say that I thought, hmmmm, how far can Torino be from Ferrara, where I will be at that time?

Well, the answer is about 400 km! Frown Wow, that Italy is a big place. So I guess I really will have to miss you guys.

But Italy looks so small on my map!!! Glad to hear you were considering it, though.

Sorry this GTG won't work - but I'm sure we will have an opportunity to get together either here or in New York somewhere along the way.

By the way - great pictures of your lovely family on the group blog. I've had a house full of family for the last week and a half, and a grandson sleeping in my computer room, so haven't had time to check in very often - and no time to post.

As a matter of fact, I shouldn't be here now - supposed to be getting ready for a day at the Six Flags Marine World (oh whoop-dee-doo). What we grandmothers do out of love of our kids.

Judy, I've finally got round to booking our trip - and we'll definitely miss you, I'm afraid. We're flying in on Oct 25, going to the first day of the Salone on the 26th, and then taking the night train down to Puglia that night.

We intend to be eating at Dai Saletta (a super SlowFood-recommended osteria in via Belfiore on 25th: is anyone else likely to be there at the beginning of the Salone and wants to join us?

Jonathan - what a shame. We are in Saluzzo through the 26th. Will have to wait until another time to meet you.

Bumping this to see if anyone else might be in Torino at the end of the month. Diva, Diana - are you still up for a GTG either the 27th or the 28th at Tre Galline?

Anyone else going to be in the Torino area that weekend?

I am driving up with friends ( from Marin County) and we arrive on the 26th.
I am staying right downtown, they are at the lingotto meridien!

I have other friends coming too, from France and Mexico!!!

I am free for dinner on the 26th or lunch on the 27th.
Going to dinner with Jasper of Jasper's restaurant in Kansas City Friday night as I am taking them touring in Tuscany after.

Am excited.
Did you know Dianne thought you were my mom.. Mother Judy, she was telling me my mom was staying with her...
Not unheard of that my mom who calls herself mamma di Judy, would di such a thing, took me a while to figure it out.
And my mamma is going to be in shanghai!
