Sounds like this will be a great party- we can't wait!
Looking over the menu so far, it seems a little heavy on appetizers - I think I will do a chicken dish instead of an appetizer- sound okay? Or something else?

My husband is thinking about setting up his LCD to have favorite pictures of Italy projected on a wall as "background art" during the GTG. So if anyone wants to bring a CD of their favorite pics, please feel free to do so and we'll see how it works. I find this to be rather an amusing suggestion coming from Jim who used to give me all kinds of grief about time spent on this site and was once skeptical about STGTGs. So glad he's now into the spirit of our community! There's hope for other spouses out there who haven't yet joined in.
Would it be terribly tacky of me to "un-Prosecco" myself? The dessert I am bringing is costing a bit more than planned, and with moving my place of residence on Thursday 3/23, I am running low of $$$ I promise the dessert will be worth it (I'm having it made because I am "cute-cake-ideas" challenged). trust me on this one folks so, please, if someone could bring an extra bottle or 2 of Prosecco?
Hi Everyone. This sounds amazing! What a great party. I wish I could meet you all that night, but I will be at the California version STGTG at Gloria's in Sonoma. I'm just chiming in here to remind you all to take lots of pictures to post...before AND after all the vino is poured. I will make sure to do the same at Gloria's. Have a fabulous time! Colleen, your Italy photo idea is great! How cool of your ST friendly husband!
Will do Palma, although my husband's beautiful digital camera was recently stolen
I will be visiting the Boston area next weekend, and am wondering: Are there any special precautions I should take with my belongings?
(Sorry, couldn't resist that one. I am truly sorry to hear about the theft of Jim's camera, and hope there were not irreplaceable photos on it at the time.)

I've been away visiting colleges with one of my twins otherwise I would have jumped right in there with some prosecco (also have some in the extra fridge just waiting....).
We are off to Florida. The rest couldn't come any sooner. Planning for the Bar-Mitzvah and looking at colleges all at once! I had fun driving around for 5 days looking at schools with Alex but have to say that for a car driving companion a teenage boy just doesn't rate! Boy, can that kid sleep, and especially in a car! (Should have taken that book on tape...but knew he would balk at that....should have known he would sleep!)
We got a lot accomplished though so that is good.
See you all when we return. I will throw in a bottle of prosecco with our wine!
Amy, thanks for the directions.
Pokey, good luck with the move-you will be ready to party!!!
see you soon.

How about I bring some bread? I'll go to Clearflour Sat am and pick up an assortment for both dinner and to go with the cheeses?
I have some condiments that might compliment your cheese platter, Marian: some salsa di fichi, a jar of JudyDiva's Mostarda Mediterranea, a jar of miele e tartufo bianco, etc. How's that sound?
Mindy, if you want to come to my house we can go together. One less car to park in Cambridge.
Since I am waiting for my new camera, what did your husband order? Hope to have my new Canon S2 IS sometime this week, do you need more than one camera nut for this party?
Hi Max, Actually after some research, he found out that a newer version of the canmera he wants is coming out in 2 weeks, so he is waiting for that model to be released. Not really sure what model it is as I let him deal with these "toys". In the mean time he will borrow a camera from work for the party. However, the more cameras the better INMO, so feel free to bring yours.
