Hi, I know you are all gearing up for the big GTG with Angie on the 4th but if anyone would like to meet for coffee, wine, informal converstaion, while I am there I would love it!
I arrive on the afternoon of the 19th and leave the 22nd so Mon and Tues are pretty much it.
Jan, let's touch base closer to the date. I'm thinking I can do coffee while the kids are in school but let me see how things play out over the next couple of weeks.
Jan - Bill and I will be in NYC on the 21st - we have something scheduled for mid-afternoon, but if morning coffee works out for the others, that would be great!

I can do coffee in the morning on the 21st. Can it be near my office (I'll have to run back to work immediately after the GTG)? I'm in midtown, on Third Avenue between 54th and 55th Streets. Some places near me are:
- Juan Valdez Cafe (loungey area in the back, good pastries); - Starbucks in the Citicorp building (yeah, I know it's Starbucks, but we can take our coffee out into the atrium if we want); - Lipstick Cafe (good pastries, interesting space); - Fauchon (delicious, authentic French pastries & coffee - a little pricey, but worth every penny).
Daniel, you're not far from where my Dad used to work. I'll probably take the train in and the subway over (unless I have time to walk).
I'll probably be able to catch an 8:42 or 8:58 which gets me into the city by 9:50. Over to the east side, 10:30 works for me . I may be able to get in early if Chris is home to get the kids to school but I won't know that until last minute.
10:30 is fine for me. I vote for any place but not Starbucks. I do love starbucks, but for NYC, this time, I would like to try something I can't have in Tallahassee.
Great. I'm glad that the time is working for everyone. As to a place, we're scratching out Starbucks, AND Lipstick Cafe because (duh) I forgot that it's now closed.
In addition to the other places I suggested, let me also toss in Le Bateau Ivre into the mix. I've never been there for coffee, but have had many a glass of wine there after work.
Hi y'all. I think I am the long shot here. For me to get to midtown in the middle of my day would be a bit tough. That would be quite a way for me to dash off to and dash back unnoticed! I don't want to be the spoiler. Please set up a good plan for you all and I will see if there is any way I can fit into it.
My time is always parceled out day-to-day depending on what is going on at work. I never know what awaits me each day....
I do want to try and make it. My excuse to run out was going to be something really vague, like, "I have to run to Duane Reade" and I am not sure how much time I can squeeze out of that!
Maybe I can upgrade it to something even more vague, like, "I have to run an errand!" but to get to midtown east from the village west might be pushing it for me timewise.
Too bad, stella. Dare I suggest that we meet in the WEST 50's rather than the EAST 50's? Daniel, would this make a huge difference for you? If so, we would not do that. Stella, would this make the length of your "errand" more believable?

Wow -- while I was busy doing other things this has turned into a party! The morning of the 21st works well for us.
Jan - we are staying on West 32nd St. near 5th Ave., but we are happy to meet you all wherever it is most convenient for those on the tightest schedules (Daniel, Stella). So count us in, and let us know where to be when.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all; Stella -- hope we can figure out a way that you can join us.

Well, I'm back & forth to NYC all the time and work & stay at 32nd & Madison. I should be able to make it if I'm in that day. I'll know closer to the date.Karen
