Hi So. Cal buddies. Bill and I are treating ourselves to an opera weekend in LA in a couple of weeks, and would love to see some of you if you are available Sunday evening. (we have matinee tix Sunday). We're staying at the Biltmore, and I was thinking of dinner at Ciao Trattoria sometime around 6:30.
If you can make it, let me know.

Judy, I wish I could meet you for dinner! I teach Sunday nights at 7.00 and am not free until close to 9.00. I teach close to downtown though so if you all are up for some coffee, etc., after dinner let me know.
Kathy - why don't you plan on coming by to say hi if you are close by -- I'm pretty sure we would still be at Ciao at nine (and you could probably call the restaurant to see if we are still there) - restaurant is at 815 W. Seventh Street Los Angeles, CA 90017; phone # is (213) 624-2244.

Kathy - oops! Change of plans -- turns out Ciao isn't open on Sunday nights any more (bummer!) - Marcia and I are trying to decide on an alternate restaurant, and one of us will post our decision asap. It will probably still be someplace downtown, since we don't have wheels for this trip.
Stay tuned!

Pete's turned out to be a winner - good food, good wine, good company. A bustling, casual place, with a young, hip crowd who seemed totally unfazed when the seniors (to them) arrived...
It was good to see Marcia & David again, and to meet two of their Pasadena friends whose names I have managed to forget (wonder if it was the great mojito followed by some lovely wine, or if it is just aging brain cells).
Teachick didn't make it - and was missed.

Judy is right about everything (and our friends are Dana & Ned, they had a great time meeting you), Pete's was a great downtown spot, good food, great service and a fun, young vibe. Nice to find a place that serves dinner until 1 in the morning, especially downtown after the theatre.
