Sunday afternoon is baseball in the best baseball town in the country watching the best baseball team in the country beat whatever insignificant team they happen to be playing.

Jen, Kim? Do you have any additions or comments to make.
Uh, well, I'll be a gracious guest and leave that last comment alone Big Grin.

No Comment from me, too - wish we could join you on the market tour, but de plane arrives at 2ish, see you at dinner, unless anyone wants to meet up for a drink beforehand.

Deborah-

That sounds great! Sorry I have been missing in action, wrapping up another semester having a hard time juggling work, school and life.

Do we have a head count on people that need lodging?

I'm planning to go and will want lodging somehow. If there's a special rate it's something to consider, if it's good to be in the same place for carpooling, etc. Otherwise I might find something modest on my own.

Ditto, that, Andrew.

Lodging ideas, anyone?

I was thinking we would stay at the Drury Hotel that is nearest to Deborah's, unless there is another good idea.

Here's a link to their website:
https://wwws.druryhotels.com/PropertyList.aspx

The one closest to my house is this one: https://wwws.druryhotels.com/P...w.aspx?Property=0117

The one closest to Tower Grove Park, Forest Park, &, The Hill is this one:
https://wwws.druryhotels.com/P...w.aspx?Property=0136 (One of the restaurant choices is actually located in this one.)
Here is the post from the other thread with the info about hotels.

There are two downtown. This one is near Union Station.

I'll update to say that I've booked a car rental from Hertz Local Edition in St. Joe: the tax-included total for a 3-day rental is under $40! This is based on a discount from Southwest Airlines, also giving double Rapid Rewards credit. Even as the airfare was going down, I found that I liked the one SWA credit rather than 2+ for the flight and rental; that risked getting me an award that would expire before I wanted to use it. If others want to see about a similar discount for an airport rental, information with codes is here.

For lodging, are we still waiting to see if Jen finds a group rate? While there might be cheaper options for me, with the likely advantages of staying in the same place (and the transportation cost for me being low), the Drury Southwest looks good. The link in Deborah's post isn't working for me; it's including the ellipsis literally as part of the URL; try here.

Andrew/Deborah/All-

I would be able to get a room rate reduction for a group of 10 or more, not sure how many people need lodging, please let me know.

Deborah, please count me in on the Friday shopping trip etc...

Hi Jen,

Would that be 10 rooms rather than 10 people, many of whom would be two in a room? That would help us gauge how close we are to that.

We are one room. I just checked and with a AAA card, I can get a room rate of $67.49 per nite, which sounds amazing to me, living as I do out here on the expensive coast.

Hi Jen...got you PM about which Drury it is. It is the one Andrew links to in the last line of his post on the 26th above.

Dan and I leave for Scotland in a few weeks, and won't be around for continued planning.

So, I'm leaving it all in Jen's capable hands.

Carry-on everyone!!!

Just one question - of all the Drury's, is the one that Andrew links to the one closest to Deborah's? I used Andrew's link when checking the AAA rate - which again, I think is a great rate already. Leaves me a bigger beer budget for the baseball game is what I'm thinking.
