I believe, as the title of this topic says, it's a dinner GTG, not sure what the exact time is yet though.

Yes, as the title says and Kim noted, it's a dinner GTG. I can guarantee a good time, but not transportation. Big Grin

"Yes," meaning I'm too late, or something else?

That's what my "yes" means; it's a dinner GTG. You are not too late.

I have made a dinner reservation for 15 of us at 7:30 at the Turkish Kitchen in Gramercy Park - Kips Bay area. Exact address is 386 3rd Ave, between 27th and 28th Sts. (We decided that Pylos really couldn't handle us, too small and no big tables.) The restaurants website is not too helpful, except in terms of their wonderful menu. Reviews in Zagat and NYTimes are great. Only caveat is that they are busy on Saturday night and can only give us two hours.

We will probably meet for drinks before. And some party animals may do so after. Anyone have a good suggestion as to where to meet before?

BOSTON CREW ALERT: ANY OF YOU INTERESTED IN COMING DOWN? I KNOW MAUREEN WILL BE IN ITALY, BUT ANY OTHERS?

I will start a PM to keep track of this. So far the attendees are

Angie (our visiting celebrity)
Janis (Angie's friend)
Ellen
Kim & Chris
Marian
Janet and Alan
Daniel and Laurie
KellyC
Margaretlb
SharonZ
aironeverde (?)
Mary M (?)

Please let us know if you have a change in plans. And please --- add your name if you want to come. But do it soon!

If anyone's interested Vino is just up the street (between park and lex) and they do Saturday tastings but often early - around 4:00. I Trulli is across the street and I believe they have an associated 'enoteca' with a few dozen wines by the glass.

Marian, great choice! I went to grad school at Baruch which is right around the block from Turkish Kitchen. Great food, and great for groups. Why didn't I think of that? Roll Eyes

Boston crew checking in.

The food at TK is quite good. Great work, Marian!

It doesn't look likely that we'll be able to come down, but maybe I'll abandon Larry and hop on the Chinatown bus if I can finish some projects. Humn. Round trip on the bus gives me 8 hours of uninterrupted quiet...

Can I be a "maybe maybe?" I'll let you know a few days in advance.

Wow! celebrity status! I can't wait to eat Greek. Can we throw our plates on the floor? Isn't everyone on Slowtrav a celebrity? Today I met a sculptor celebrity.
Luigi Galligani It was a real surprise.

Kim, I'm just a wino at heart Wink and would love to get together before dinner for a glass of wine. If anyone is interested, I'm game. Just let me know where and when.

Okey dokey Margaret. Our Matriarch has assigned me the job of finding a pre-dinner place for drinks Smile. Buf in anyone's interested in starting way early, I'll probably head in with Chris to Vino for the wine tasting. That week though I'll check with the store just to make sure it's still on.

Kim, as you can probably imagine, wine tastings are no fun for Laurie these days, but you can count us in for the pre-GTG. See ya!

Yeah, I remember those days. Chris enjoyed them though, built in designated driver Big Grin.

I will plan on being there early too! My brother and SIL (Marc & Cheryl) may very likely join us. (They are going down to Perdifumo with Ellen, Maureen and me.)

Okay a friend suggested Vertigos for pre-dinner drinks (you may want to turn off your speakers before clicking the link). Any thoughts? Oh it's on 3rd and 26th.

One more suggestion for drinks before is Houstons on Park at 27th. It's an American pub type chain. Either works for me.
