On this thread, we began planning a Paris GTG.

So far the plan is to meet on March 15 for wine and nibbles at our apartment, which faces the (south) side of Notre Dame near the Maubert Mutualité metro stop, then go out to dinner together. (We're looking for an inexpensive place for dinner -- maybe in the same area?)

Please post here if you can join us, and if you have suggestions for dinner, post them here as well.

So far, it looks like:

Chris and Frank
Kathy, Charley, and Kelly
Dana (aka t-mac) and Tracy
Louise (aka Scribos) (possibly for apéritifs)
Daniel and David
Angie and Baby
Americana in Parigi (for apéritifs)
possibly Pedro

I hope all of you Paris-dwellers will be able to join us as well as any other Slow Travelers in Paris.

March 15 is a nice time, but I do not know if can make due to my gang wishful desires for the weekend. Will keep looking at this thread if can possibly make it.

However, I do have my suggestions from the local perspective try this one,not too far near rue mouffetards, the price is right at this historical and well like resto with the locals.

just up the road try the best creperie in the area at the Créperie de Cluny ,20 Rue de la Harpe, just before metro Cluny-La Sorbonne straight on Bl Saint-Germain then second street turn right; its a good inexpensive place.

voilà.

A creperie sounds fun! And the price is right (10 euros for Entrée,Plat, Dessert + Bolée de cidre.)

Chris, what time shall we plan to meet at your place? And might we decide who brings what?

Hmm, what do you think? 6? 7?

And all you need to bring are your smiles!

This sounds like a good plan to me! It will be fun to meet first at Chris and Frank's apartment and then go to dinner.

The place pedmar gave the link to is just around the corner from where we will be staying for our couple of days. I saw this restaurant when Kelly and I were there this summer, and it looked interesting. Or a creperie is good too. We are easy-- and definitely interested in something lower cost!

Chris, I don't know how much earlier than the rest of us you will be in Paris, but maybe you can get a reservation for us when you arrive and our number firms up.

We're flexible on time too...

I sent an e-mail to Happy in Paris Dave, and fingers crossed that he and Aralynn will be able to join us. And it would definitely be great to finally meet pedmar!

I think the creperie sounds fun and it's affordable and I'll have more than one non-meat option so I vote for it. (I haven't mapped it, is it close?)

Shall we meet at 7 (to allow a full day of Paris fun beforehand)? How funny to think we'll all be out and about in the same city. Then what time dinner? 8:30? 9? Nobody has to get up early Sunday do they?

Hello Cyber Friends!

As I mentioned on the France board, I'm going to be in Paris on March 15 (last night) and would love nothing more than to join this small but illustrious group of Slow Travelers if you'll have me! My friend David will be along for the ride too if that's OK. He's a vegetarian, so Dana will have a sympatico there.

Looking forward to it!

Angie, so that means your due date must be around April 7th give or take, right? Our son is due May 3rd. We'll have children less than a month apart in age! More Slow Travel babies!

Bonjour, GTG-on-March-15th-Slow Travelers. I'm on the RSVP list for but just learned the first visitors we'll be receiving arrive that very day. While we're not all joined at the hip, I do feel my husband and I need to be with our friends that evening since it's their first visit to Paris. I may come for the pre-dinner gathering before all of you head. I'd like to raise a glass to thank people in person for helping us so much with moving to Paris a few weeks ago. Hope that's okay. Louise

Our Paris GTG is a month from tomorrow!

I thought I'd bump this up in case any other Paris travelers want to join us.

And now it's less than 3 weeks!

When you can, please confirm whether you're coming (and how many you are) for a) pre-dinner wine and nibbles at our place, b)dinner at the creperie, or c)both. Also, if you think I might not have it, send me your email address so I can send you the final addresses, phone numbers, times, etc the week prior to the GTG.
