The natives are getting restless -- I've now gotten two messages asking when we were planning our third annual Picnic in the Redwoods. So - let's try to figure out WHEN we want to gather for what KT calls the 3rd annual Pig Out in the Park.

One request we have had is to try to find a Sunday that works this year, instead of a Saturday. So, with that as a given, my calendar shows the following dates as possible:

June 29
July 26 (my least favorite, due to a possible conflict with a family event)
August 3
August 10

I realize it is early - but the sooner we make our reservation with the folks at Redwood Regional Park, the better our chances are of getting our wonderful site in the ring of redwood trees.

Post and let us know when you can come -- and we will try to get this set up by mid-May.

Looking forward to seeing lots of you at this event.

June 29!

It's hard to believe, but we are already booked for the August dates (Maine) and 99% sure we are out of town on the July date for a family wedding in Illinois.

I know how Joan feels.

I would have to vote for your least fave, the last weekend in July (July 26). We will away in June and August.

Thanks for organizing, Judy, let's see what happens.

Thanks for kicking this off, Judy!

Right now, any of the above dates work for me. I'll make a note of them to be sure they stay open until we have a decision.

p.s. KT has it right. Big Grin

We'll try for whatever date gets chosen. Our summer schedule is very up in the air this year, so we may or may not make it.

I am going to try to make it this year. I wanted to attend last year but the oncology nurse won over my schedule at that time.

So this year, I am going to try my best to make it... well except if it happens on June 29th - grandson's first birthday.

Colleen, what a great idea on the SlowTrav DVD.

Judy, thanks for organizing!

At this point it looks like only June 29 and July 26 work for us. While we don't have tickets yet, we hope to be in Michigan visiting grandparents during the August dates.

No small task, organizing travelers!

With my usual jam-packed social schedule Wink I'm free all of those days.

Thanks for organizing it, Judy.

Wow - we are a busy bunch of people, aren't we? And what KT didn't say is that she is available in July and August because she leaves for Spain - or is it Portugal - or maybe both, very soon...so her vacation will be over by July.

Hey Colleen - how did you get a DVD - I didn't think you went to Savannah! Da@#ed mods get all the perks!

I won't make any decisions on dates until we hear from Wendy (she pm'd me to say it is too slow and too expensive to get on the ST boards for more than a minute from the ship).

Beth - what about the June 29 date????

Still waiting for Wendy & Rob to get home from their cruise and check their calendars - then we'll try to find a date that will work for the greatest number of people.

If you guys have this around the end of July I might be able to come! I'm hoping to take a yoga teacher's workshop in S.F. from July 21-25. If I can find a place to stay and this happens at that time, I'd love to come! I'll keep watching the thread to see what happens. Smile

I MIGHT be able to make it June 29. Sunday is not the best day for me, because I would need to drive back to L.A. afterwards. However, my schedule is so up in the air for the next several months that I wouldn't want you to make any plans on account of me, 'cuz I still might not be able to come.

I might be able to make the June 29th date, too. Late July/early August I'll be in Oregon.

Beth, if we both end up going, and you want to drive to Morro Bay, you can hitch a ride with me the rest of the way.

Thanks, Jill. But if I go, I'll be going with Keith, and we'll probably stay at my sister's house.

Hi all, we are back and look forward to the day in the woods. The only date I know for sure that we can not make is the July 26th. The other dates, at this time, look fine for us.

Here's to another day in the park Wine.

Thank you Judy Star

Well - we now have a date: June 29.

And we have a place: Roberts Regional Park, Roberts Grove picnic area.

And, because of the above, we now have a new thread.

Mods are going to close this thread for me - and we can post updates on the new one.

Judy
